Meet Kim Dittler / Prudential NW Properties

Member Spotlight: Kim Dittler / Prudential NW Properties

I’m a native Oregonian who grew up in West Linn and graduated with a business management degree from George Fox University.  Directly after college, I began my real estate career in the Lake Oswego community and have loved every minute of it.

I strive to deliver the best service to my clients and one of the best compliments I have ever been given from a client was when they told me, “Kim, I know you have many clients that you are working with at one time but you make me feel like I am your only one!”  That is the biggest honor to me, when my clients truly know how much I appreciate and value them.

I was honored in 2010 by the National Association of Realtors, the largest Real Estate professional network of agents representing nearly 1 million members, as one of the “Top 30 Under 30” in the USA.  The NAR selected those they felt were the most up and coming, tech-savvy, and customer service oriented agents in the nation under the age of 30. I was honored to be selected and travel to Chicago to be in their publication.

In 2009 and 2010 I was honored with Prudential’s President’s Circle award and in 2011, the Chairman’s Circle Award, honoring the top 2% of Prudential agents in the Nation.

Along with real estate, I love to travel and look forward to my first trip to Europe this fall when I will be traveling with my husband to Paris and Italy.  I look forward to eating gelato each day!  I also love volunteering with Adopt-A-Class, where I have worked the past four years to help underprivileged schools in the area by mentoring young students throughout the school year. I look forward to being a part of this great Chamber and supporting each of our great members!

The International Leadership Academy

ILA, the International Leadership Academy, will open its doors on September 6th, at 1040 C Avenue in Lake Oswego, to students from pre-school through fifth grade.

ILA will be offering a world-class international education to the area’s children, harmonizing the best of the French educational system with the best of the American educational system. It is a French immersion school, with the basic curriculum being taught in French. A formal English program is included, and Arabic, Spanish, and Chinese will be offered in the near future as third language choices.

Young children can learn a second or even a third language with surprising ease. Studies continue to show that students who learn multiple languages perform better in school in every way. Early second language learners excel not only in language-related skills and self-confidence, but also in math, memory, spatial abilities, abstract and creative thinking, complex problem-solving, and, in fact, all major areas of cognitive and intellectual development. Young second language learners also get an important head start in international studies and in career opportunities in today’s fast-changing world.

ILA will further prepare students for the future with cutting-edge programs in technology, logic and philosophy for children, and with Body-in-Motion: a fitness, wellness, and nutrition program designed to help children stay healthy and energetic for life.

ILA’s experienced and multicultural staff will be headed by School Director, Massene Mboup, and Director of Pedagogy, Patricia Raclot.

Mboup, who comes from Senegal, has a teaching degree from the Ecole Normale Superieure of Dakar, a B.A in Linguistics and in American Literature and Civilization from the University of Dakar. a solid administrative background, and 25 years of successful teaching in Senegal and in the U.S. (Mboup’s students consistently score higher that their counterparts in Paris, and, since the beginning of the French Ministry’s testing of American students of French, Mboup’s students have achieved some of the highest scores in the nation). He has also been coaching youth soccer for the past 11 years.

Raclot, a native of France’s Lorraine area, has degrees from France in Education, in English, and in French as a Foreign Language. She has been successfully teaching for the last 22 years, in France and in the U.S., at both the Elementary and the Middle School levels.
The first day of school for ILA is less than two weeks away, and the staff is setting up the classrooms to make them fun, inspiring, and challenging. Parents and children are invited to visit ILA for one of its Thursday evening summer presentations (6:30 p.m., at the school, childcare provided) or to come by the school, weekdays during August, to tour toand meet the staff. ILA’s back-to-school open house takes place on Monday, September 6th: its first day of regular classes will be Tuesday, September 7th.

Meet Mark Tipperreiter and Blanketbooster

"How can I get a better night's sleep?"

That's what Blanketbooster™ founder Mark Tipperreiter asked himself for the first time in 2002.  Back then, Mark was working as a consultant to Intel in the fast-paced, cutting-edge world of semiconductor manufacturing.  Long, stressful workdays were the norm and the cycle was never-ending.

As a result, Mark put a high value on a good night's sleep so that he could recharge and approach each new day with the energy and focus that his job demanded.  Unfortunately, pressure from the weight of the bedding on his feet at night caused discomfort in his hips, knees, ankles and feet.  He wasn't waking up as refreshed as he needed to and was forced to sleep only on his side or stomach, dangling his feet off the end of the bed.

After several years of sleeping uncomfortably, Mark designed the Blanketbooster.  It's a self-assembling system that spans across almost any bed to free the user's feet from the weight of the bedding.  The result is a more comfortable night's sleep!  The Blanketbooster requires no tools or hardware, folds down when not in use and collapses for travel.  The average person spends 1/3 of their life sleeping and deserves the most comfortable sleep possible.

Mark holds both a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Spanish language degree from Marquette University.  He has an extensive design, construction and project management background in the semiconductor industry.  He has a passion for service - he is an Eagle Scout and is active in both his local Rotary and church.  Originally from Chicago, Mark relocated to Portland to be with his wife Aimee and indulge in his love for the outdoors and promote improved health and wellness.  When he's not enjoying a more comfortable night's sleep, he is active in the outdoors - hiking, camping, running, cycling, snowboarding and wakeboarding.  He left the semiconductor industry in 2010 and runs Blanketbooster, Inc. full-time to bring a more comfortable night's sleep to the world.

Meet Dr. Tony Rhodes - Acceleration Chiropractic

Prior to my Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) education at the University of Western States I obtained my Bachelors of Science (B.S.) from the University of Idaho. I lived an active life in Idaho before moving to Oregon and have continued this way of life throughout my time in Oregon. After some time away in Central America I opened my practice here in Oregon. I absolutely love what I do and get excited to go to work every day. When I’m not at the clinic I’m typically outdoors. On the weekends I enjoy hiking, running, white water river guiding and coaching my little league team. These activities keep life exciting and allow me to stay healthy. Life is too short to not follow your passions, don’t be afraid to try something new and be open to new ideas.

My athletic background has enabled me to understand the biomechanics and competitive mindset of athletes. Therefore, I have a great handle on treating and rehabilitating injuries that occur during sports activities. Chiropractic is more than a profession, it's a lifestyle. It's taking care of your body even when you aren't ill. It's about eating and drinking right, keeping your body and mind sharp, and living up to your potential. I'm a certified Active Release Technique (ART) practitioner, Certified Kinesio Taping practitioner (CKTP), and Graston Certified practitioner. These certifications all involve treating soft tissue, thus, allowing me to address soft tissue injuries that are commonly overlooked or misdiagnosed.

Tony adds,  “I've always been an advocate for living energetically and have devoted my life and career to this endeavor”
